Why are the British considered one of the most interesting and influential peoples on the planet? They have a weird sense of humour, sarcasm, which is sometimes difficult for foreigners to understand. They normally do not like to complain directly if they experience a poor service, and they are generally quite cautious: They will not talk to you unless they have been introduced, to avoid possible embarrassment.
