Post-Study Work replaces the International Graduate Scheme within the UK. It enables non-EU students to work full-time for two years in order to gain valuable work experience in the UK, and also be able to switch into other Tier 1 Sub categories or a Tier 2 Work Permit. This 2 year visa is not extendable.
Under Tier 1 (Post-Study Work) initial applicants must score:
If the applicant has been awarded:
A UK recognised bachelor's or postgraduate degree;
A UK postgraduate certificate or diploma; or
A higher national diploma (HND) from a Scottish institution |

The qualification must have been obtained by the applicant whilst in the UK with one of the following UK immigration status options:
In possession of a tier 4 student visa
As a dependent of another main applicant in the UK |

| The applicant made the application for entry clearance or leave to remain as a Tier 1 (Post-Study Work) migrant within 12 months of obtaining the relevant qualification. |

| Applicants who meet the pass-mark of 75 points also need to satisfy the English language requirement. |

Maintainance fund:
For applicant in the UK: £800; Applicants for entry clearance: £2,800. From 1 November 2008 you will need to show you have held this sum in your account for three months before applying;£570/month in addition for each dependant. |
